MynameisHarryLin.OnMay25,1958,IwaorninXinying,alittletowniouthernFujian.Myfatherisafarmer,plantingbananasandpineales,andmymothertakescareofthehouse.Ihavetwobrothersandonesister.Thoughnotwell-to-do,myparentshavebeenab♥letoprovidethewholefamilywithsufficientmeatolivedecentlyandenjoyallmodernconveniences.Myearlyeducationwasreceivedinmyhometown,i.e.sixyea☢rsirimaryschoolandthreeyearsinjuniormiddleschool.Aftercompletingnineyearsofformaleducationin1958.IwenttoXiamenandparticipatedinthejo웃intentranceexaminationforfive-yearjuniorcolleges.Fortunately,IwasadmittedtotheDepartmentofElectricalEngineeringatXiamenJuniorEngineeringCollege.IchoseElectricalEngineeringasmymajorbecause,ontheonehand,IlikedPhysicsverymuch;andontheoฏtherhand,electricalindustryisamajorsectoroftheeconomyofChina.

ThefiveyearsofinteivetrainingcametoanendinJune1978whenIreceivedadiploma.AndinJuly1980.IwashiredbyNanYaplasticCompanyandhaveservedasajuniorelectricalengineeratthecom♋panytothepresent.Ienjoytheworkandfeelcompetentforthejob.

Inworking,however,I’veFoundthatwhatIhavelearnedichoolislimitedandfarfromsufficienttohandlesophisticatedjo.Therefore,IhavedecidedtoextendmyeducationandwouldliketoenteranAmericanititutionfirstlytoearnaBachelor’sdegreeinElectricalEngineering.Then,ifpoible,IwouldliketocontinuemyeducationtowardaMaster’sdegree.

Afterthisobjectiveisreached,Iwillreturntomycountryandseekajobinapublicfirm.MostprobablyIwillcontinuetoworkwithNanYaPlasticCompany.
