My dad is a wonderful man. He worked hard all his life and has never let me down. If one person influenced me to go to college and become a better person, it’s him.

I moved in with my dad a few years ago. Every morning he would wake up at 4 am. He would do some writing and then leave for work. He would get off work at 5 pm and spend the remaining day with his family. Any time I needed him, he was there for me. He was a great role model. My dad is a typical family man. He bends over backwards to support his family. He supported us financially and emotionally.

My dad is the reason why I try to support my son as best as I can. He is also the reason why I have decided to spend less time with friends and more time with family. Now I’m a much better woman. I have a son of my own. I once worked hard on my studies in school and now do well in my work. My dad became a manager in less than three years and I hope to do the same. I have worked for the same company for one and a half years now. I have got two raises.

I remember I worked extremely hard in school. I never missed a day and I never went to school late. I graduated in July two years ago. This was only the first step to becoming a psychologist. My father is an expert in this field. But I’m proud that I never rely on his reputation.

My father is more than 2,000 miles away, but I never forget what he did for us. Every time work gets really hard, I think of my dad. Every time I feel like giving up I think of him.

A good friend of mine lives about one hour away. I called her last week and found out that she wasn’t doing well at work, which would make the following year a little more challenging. After hanging up the phone, I decided to offer to help her, but I couldn’t think of what to do. However, opportunities present themselves when you’re not even looking for.

A few days later, some friends and I happened to be eating desserts at a restaurant in her city. As we were looking at the menu, I turned to my friends and asked them if they wanted to join in a game. After explaining the idea, they decided to take 15 minutes to make someone’s day. We ordered an extra dessert, wrote a note, added a smile card and were off. However, there was one problem: I had no idea where she was.

Therefore, it was time to rely on the network. I called up a friend and got him to call her to see what she was doing and found out that she was at work.

We drove to her work place and one of my friends became the delivery(投递)person. He went in to look for my friend, found her, didn’t really answer her questions and walked out, saying he’s simply delivery person.

He ran out quickly and I bent down as we drove by to make sure she didn’t follow him out. Afterwards, all of us had this huge smile on our faces. We felt as if we had just planned a surprise party or something.my,dad,is,wonderful, man。

A new semester has just started and a number of parents are registering to change their children’s names, in the hope that it will change their temper or help their children drop bad habits, like addiction to the Internet.

One mother surnamed Shi renamed her son, a primary school student, Hengfu, which means eternal(永恒的)happiness in Chinese. She decided to change the boy’s name because he always did poorly in study. She has had him tutored after school, but he always earns low marks in school. So Shi turned to a name-giving master. “I hope the special recipe could bring him good luck,” the mother said. Teachers in the city say a few students in every schoo蓬莱瑶台l, most nearing graduation, change their names at the start of every new semester.

A naming agency said it has found names for nearly 1,000 students since setting up the shop in 1998. The store said its professionals analyzed the defects (缺点) of a person’s original name, and suggested a new one based on the person’s birthday and other fortune-telling skills.

Buying a new name costs between 800 yuan and 10,000 yuan. Parents also have to register the name at the local police department for a small fee. This will legally change their child’s name on all documents, including ID cards and passports.

Hu Jie, a university student who changed her name in her final year of high school, said the new name confused her. “I always had no idea who my classmates were calling when they used my new name,” Hu said, adding that she wished she had kept her old name.
